CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SELECTED HONOREE!
Meredith McKinney Meredith demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to her community both personally and professionally. As a Community Achieves Program Specialist for Metro Nashville Public Schools, her work involves leveraging community partners to best meet the needs of students and families in our schools and the community. She supports schools using the community school strategy to ensure community partners bring their expertise and desire to make a difference in the lives of children and families by providing support such as academic tutoring, mentoring, food bags, toiletries, clothing & shoes, mental and physical health supports, and any additional resources to help ensure removing any barriers to student learning. As part of that mission, Meredith frequently volunteers with Book ‘Em, a non-profit that provides free books for economically disadvantaged children in Nashville. When not at work, she spends her time volunteering with organizations like The Bridge Builder Program, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, 10th Annual Kids and Kites Day, Safe Haven Family Shelter’s Annual Hike for the Homeless, Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee, American Diabetes Association, as well as tutoring elementary students, mentoring at Fisk University, and delivering Thanksgiving food boxes to families in need.
